Wednesday -- Over the Frump Day -- Finally

Since it's been a mild summer in the midwest, this has been one of my go to outfits.
I'm getting better with the smile.

And maybe the posing.
The lighting is better, but we're still working on it.
Outside just isn't working for a multitude of reasons e.g. sun too bright,
allergy season upon us, etc.

The details:
Green tank: Nic and Zoe
Striped tank: Talbots
Chambray dress: Sans Souci
Capri leggings: Hue
Sandals: BCBG
Belt: Rolfs
Where I wore it: Lunch at the new restaurant/brewery

Sorry about that post yesterday; it left a lot to be desired.  Should have listened to my instincts and left that one alone. I hope this game offers more strikes before I'm out, because I'll probably make more mistakes.

Note to self -- remember the following prior and during a photo shoot:  ;)
  • A little more makeup is better.
  • A little bigger hair is better.
  • Never post (nor take photos) when battling allergies and in a funk.
  • Be kind to your photographer.
  • Stand with your legs closer together.
Are there other blogging mistakes I'm certain to make?  Would you like to share any that you have made with your blog?

  1. Oh, goodness, that's part of the fun and learning experience of blogging. So many things I wasn't aware of until I saw photos of myself. I'm an definite amateur and always will be, but I'll take about 15 to 25 photos and then pick the best ones. There have been times I've had to crop my head out because I looked so pitiful or didn't have my make up and hair done that day...but wanted to post the outfit. ha
We all started out where you are and most of us are still learning all the time. I like seeing a blogger's personality. And I'm already seeing a lot of yours and I'm getting a kick out of it. :)
Oh, and this is a very cute outfit and your hair and makeup look gorgeous.
And you know what's great? You won't get fired if they're not. It's YOUR blog. You're doing great!

    1. Thank you for the great encouragement ... I needed it! :-)
I know what you mean about being unaware. For example, I thought the sandals I'm wearing above were killer. To my surprise, they didn't translate well in photos (or maybe they aren't as great as I thought).
Expect to see less of me in the future (cropped head, great idea).

  2. Oh, and I need to add... I think it's super hard to pose in front of someone...even hubby. I've tried to have him take my photos a couple of times, but I feel much more comfortable just setting the camera on the dresser and setting the 10 second timer and doing it myself.

    1. Thanks for this suggestion. He really enjoys taking the photos, but I think I'll try a few on my own.
