The First Cool and Rainy Day of Autumn

Tuesday, my thrift shopping day, was cool (temp only in the 50s), windy, and rainy. I believe Autumn has officially arrived. A light weight jacket and boots were in order.  I wore my favorite jacket and quasi-motorcycle boots instead of puddle boots. My puddle boots are of a style and pattern more appropriate for Spring.

This jacket has lots of detail, including leather trim and epaulets, which you can't see. Here's the jacket completely zipped and snapped to keep the wind and cool air out (and a better view of the leather epaulet).

Underneath the jacket, a t-shirt and a sweater for warmth.
I've had this sweater for a few years -- I really like the bow-like detail.

The details:
Jacket: Elie Tahari
T-shirt: Talbots
Sweater: Nic + Zoe
Trousers: Nic + Zoe
Boots: Born
Pendant: Lucky Brand
Bracelets: 1 Lucky Brand, 2 Thrifted (see here)

Thank you for visiting! Comments/thoughts/critiques are always welcome.

  2. Norma I love your sweater, cute details. Great jacket and nice style. About my orange skirt. It's not a stupid question, sweetie, sorry I forgot to tell it's a belt. Oh and about your last outfit post, the gorgeous pants. You could wear any color with it, like, emerald green or a gorgeous red. I think those square sweaters would look best. do you know what I mean?

    1. Thanks Lisa! I don't know why but in the autumn I seem to always where that top with the sweater.

  4. I think it's great to see an outfit clearly designed for inclement weather that looks chic and fashionable. It's so easy to start looking boring or dare I say frumpy when it comes to dressing for rain and wind and cold. Your look is a little edgy, and very stylish! I love your turquoise jewelry as well.

    1. Thank you, Sue! You can say frumpy :-) I hate to admit this, but I know that I'm sometimes guilty of looking frumpy. I'm trying desperately to rid myself of the frumpiness and I'm glad I succeeded with this outfit.

    1. Thank you Val! I'm trying, although I sometimes feel a tug back to the old rules. It's still a struggle for me, but I'm working on it.

    1. I'm not worthy of your visit!!! ;-) I've been silently following you for a long time; way before I started blogging here. I love your style and your cycles! Here in small town midwest, we are still 4-wheel centric although the times they are a changin'. We have nice trails for casual and/or sport riding; bike lanes on city streets are far and few between but the numbers are slowing increasing. I'm envious of your Friday date nights and your shopping trips.

    1. Hi Lenya! Nothing serious -- just a resurface of an old injury has kept me offline. I'll explain in a new blog post. HUGS!!! Thank you sooo much for your concern. You must be the BEST best friend in the real life world! Wish we lived close to each other!
